AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAMS

Safe Space has been working closely with the Queens school system for decades, providing academic and enrichment activities designed to help students excel.

Today, we operate four after-school and summer camp programs at elementary and middle school locations in Jamaica and Far Rockaway, that serve over 650 students annually.

We provide a structured and safe environment from 3-6pm, including an hour of supervised homework help daily, combined with a choice of sports, art, dance, music and drama activities to keep kids engaged and learning.

Camp programs extend these productive (and fun!) activities throughout the summer months, incorporating field trips to the zoo, museums and theater events when possible.

Our innovative and MicroSociety model creates a student-run miniature world governed by an elected mayor, with judges, lawyers and a police department to keep order and functioning bankers and businesses to introduce students to real life skills. MicroSociety Photos & Recap
