SPECIALIZED LGBT SERVICES. LGBTQ youth who seek refuge at our Youth Centers are a particularly vulnerable subset of those at-risk of violence because of the open hostility to homosexuality evidenced throughout Southeast Queens.
Quite literally, we often provide the only truly "Safe Space" for the young people we serve to be themselves. Where they can receive individual counseling, participate in our SPECTRUM group workshops and gain new skills that build their confidence and self-esteem. Learning to love and accept their differences as what makes them special.
