The target audience primarily consists of physicians, nurses, social workers, emergency room staff and those who work directly with victims of domestic violence within a health or hospital setting.
Presentations on Pregnancy and Domestic Violence: This presentation specifically addresses the topic of domestic violence during pregnancy and targets pregnant women and professionals who work with pregnant women.
Professional Training on Rape and Sexual Assault: The goal of this training is to raise awareness about rape and sexual assault within the college setting. This mandated training targets residence directors and assistants in the dormitories. Residence Assistants, find the information vital for their resident's. Training of Rape and Sexual Assault is also mandated for those who work in the emergency room setting, providing assistance to victims of Rape and/or Sexual Assault.
Training on Domestic Violence and Substance Abuse: This program describes the nature of domestic violence and its link to substance abuse. The relationship between these two issues is not a cause and effect relationship, but both may co-exist. Emphasis is placed on victims receiving treatment for both issues simultaneously in an attempt to prevent re-victimization and relapse. We also provide statistics and clarification on the myths around Domestic Violence and Substance Abuse and encourage both domestic violence providers and substance abuse providers to screen for and address both issues with their clients.
